Left rear fender skirt was not a great fit. The rear seat leather has been reaplaced with 'American' leather. This differs from the European leather used on the front seat although the color is right. The weather stripping on the soft top is perished. The soft top frame has some surface rust and could use paint. The paint looks good from 3 meters away however when you get close you can see some chips, some touched-up chips, some cracking, orange peel and dirt in the finish in varuous areas. Individual areas could be stripped and painted as not all the car is bad, however it is this inspectors opinion that to make it right the car should be stripped to bare metal and professionally resprayed.
The exterior chrome has some pitting on pieces but overall is good. The mat in the trunk was rubber and looked new. The rear of the car has carpet on the floor, the front has rubber mats. There was some delamination of the glass on the wing windows. The soft top fit well but the windows had to be adjusted to fit snuggly and hopefully keep out the rain. The gaskets on teh soft to would need replaceing. The clock was not working or even hooked up. We did not remove the spare wheel from the trunk. The tire looked the same as those on the car and the rim looked the same so far as could be seen. There is only one lock on the doors, on the right side and the key fit. The key did not lock the trunk lid. There are extra uncut key blanks on the bunch. The brake fluid resevoir could be sen but not easily accesssed at the bottom of the firewall. Also there was no lid, a wrench would be required to remove the cap in order to view the fluid and this was not done. The brake worked fine during the test drive but did require quite a bit of effort to slow such a large car without the help of power assist! The oil pressure was 25 lbs at warm idle. There was a slight exhaust leak at the manifold. The gears change fine going from 1st to 2nd to 3rd with just a slight 'snick' as each gear was selected. Changing down was a little harder going from 3rd to 2nd, however when I slowed enough it went into 1st without issue. The over-drive was also tested and worked as intended. The car wandered to the right with hands off the wheel during the test-drive but there was surprisingly little 'play' in the steering for such and old car. Only the rear lights come on in 'park' mode. The left brake light is out. The right front and left rear turn signals didn't work. The heater blower fan worked but barely blew. We didn't run the car long enough to see how hot it got. The front seat does not recline but does slide back and forth about 6 inches. The front interior door pulls are mishapen. There is an after market turn signal aparatus fitted. Piant is worn off the steering wheel. The left headlamp bezel is dented.
